SYMBIOSIS INSTITUTE OF DESIGN

Symbiosis established Symbiosis Institute of Design in 2004. It becomes constituent Institute of the Symbiosis International University on 10th November 2006 under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 vide notification No. 9-12/2001-U.3 of the Government of India.

SID offers following degree programs:

Bachelor of Design (B. Des ) in Communication Design
Bachelor of Design (B. Des ) in Product Design
Bachelor of Design (B. Des ) in Fashion Communication
Bachelor of Design (B. Des) in Fashion Design

These programs are aimed at creating professionals who can contribute to the highly dynamic and competitive world of Design.

The curriculum at SID offers an optimum mix of traditional skills, new media skills (with state of the art software) and soft skills.

The approach here is entirely project based. SID puts high emphasis on evaluating the students on the basis of continuous performance and projects.
 


Symbiosis International University (S.I.U) is a private co-educational, multi-institutional University located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It has been given official recognition by the UGC and the AICTE. The Indian NAAC has conferred an ‘A’ grade to the University. SIU is part of the Symbiosis Society which is its managing body. Symbiosis International University has 19 academic institutions spread over 9 campuses in Pune, Nashik and Bengaluru. It is host to over 45,000 Indian and International students on campus and over 1,00,000 students off-campus. Symbiosis believes in empowering the students to cultivate respect for self and others by offering opportunities in the field of design for life-long personal and social development. To provide a safe, caring, salutary environment where students with creative educational and social challenges can best develop the skills and character necessary to rejoin their communities with success. Universities are no doubt demanding, but again education must achieve a stronger purpose of character framing and value sustaining. Today education has reached to globalization and, of course, liberalization. But let’s not forget the process that was started –“INDIANISATION”. Welcome to the revolution called Symbiosis.
